So, someone by the username of BlueBumbleBee was able to cleverly phrase a question (intentionally or unintentionally) that led to Matt Cutts admitting that LINKS ARE IMPORTANT.
After years of beating around the bush, Cutts finally makes the statement all SEO’s have dreamed of hearing.
…. backlinks are still a really, really, big win in terms of quality for search results.
That being said, it’s still extremely important to focus on a long-term marketing strategy versus straight link building (short-term), especially for those trying to become real brands.
